Hello everyone,

I'm on the short list and I was just starting this thread to see where people are from and whatnot. I'm from Nebraska, but heading out through New York. I requested Sendai since my Japanese friends all say the food there is delish, although I would have put Osaka if I thought I had a chance.

Where did you guys end up going then? Did you get your requests? How have your first couple of months gone?

Shiro Kuma inaka is very vague - isnt that most of Japan? Lol whereabouts are you?

Uum, hi Rachel, yes, I guess I am being vague. That's on purpose I suppose - a vague and somewhat disposable identity is something I need less worry about. I didn't make a request so can hardly be disappointed.

I'm in northern Japan, waiting for my first winter here. Already been some white tops on the nearby mountains already. Have to get out a buy a snowboard sometime.

I live in a tiny bedsit apato. Small but easy to keep clean. Teaching is not difficult but not too boring either. I'm pretty happy. Finally got a mountain bike and love getting out after school and on weekends.

Shiro - sorry didn't mean to attack you for being vague (hope it didn't come across like that!). It sounds like you got yourself a pretty nice set up there Smiley Good luck with the winter and snowboarding!
